Jason Birnbaum has been recognized by Golf Digest Magazine as one of the country's "Best Young Teachers," a compilation of the top 40 teachers under the age of 40 in America for the last six years. In 2015 he became one of a select few Golf Channel Academy lead coaches. Jason's teaching experiences have taken him around the world teaching all levels of golfers. Jim Beadle is a Class “A” PGA Professional, TPI Certified Level 3 Golf Instructor, TPI Certified Level 3 Junior Coach and a K-Vest Certified Level 3 Biomechanist. Jim is based at The New Jersey Golf Academy at Essex Family Golf Center in Roseland, New Jersey.
Jim has been building better golfers for over 15 years utilizing many high tech devices such as Trackman, Flightscope, K-Vest 3D Motion Capture, SAM Putt Lab, SAM Balance Lab, High Speed Video, TOMI Putting and more. He believes that every golfer has certain physical limitations that are directly related to their individual swing flaws so by combining a TPI physical workout routine, K-Vest Biomechanical training and Doppler ball flight data analysis, we can find the most efficient way for the body swing connection to be obtained. Efficiency is the key to playing your best golf and this system of training is the way to achieve the best results in the most efficient time.
A native of Little Falls, Minnesota, Katie Brenny has been a golf professional since 2009 and a PGA member since 2011. Katie played on a golf scholarship at Wake Forest University, where she competed in every event over four years. Since graduating from Wake, Katie has spent her career in the golf industry. Initially as an assistant pro at the renowned Pinehurst Resort, followed by working on the Web.com Tour for two years. After a few years away in the sales world, she played professionally for two years.
For the last several years Katie has been involved with The First Tee Program, first in Charlotte and now in the New York metropolitan area, where she is the director of player development.
Katie has experience teaching all levels of golfers, from beginner to advanced, with a strong emphasis on junior players.
Sam Kang is a graduate of the Campbell University Professional Golf Management Program with a degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration. He has been a Class A PGA member since 2004. Previously, Sam has been based at Fiddler’s Elbow CC and Farmstead G & CC before joining New Jersey Golf Academy full time.
Sam is one of the top players in the New Jersey section. He has competed in many events and has won multiple majors, including the 2011 NJPGA Section Championship, the 2012 NJPGA Fall Finale, and numerous NJPGA Assistant events. Sam was the NJPGA Assistant Player of the year four years in a row from 2010-2013.
Sam has experience teaching golfers of all ages and skill levels. He is a Level 1 K-vest Certified Professional and utilizes TrackMan and SAM Putt Lab technology. Sam speaks Korean fluently.
Originally from Verona, New Jersey, Tim Kistner has been a PGA member for the last seven years and is a Certified Professional in golf instruction.
Tim graduated from the Penn State University Professional Golf Management Program in 2007.
Formerly, Tim was the varsity golf coach at West Essex Regional High School, and has worked as an assistant golf professional at Arcola Country Club and Preakness Hills Country Club since 2007. In those roles, he specialized in individual and group instruction, as well as junior golf camps and clinics. Tim joined New Jersey Golf Academy full time in 2014.
Tim has experience teaching all levels of golfers, from beginner to advanced.
In 1995 Kieran McCarthy began his path as a PGA Golf Professional by enrolling into the PGA of America where he earned his membership in 2001. Kieran has worked at a variety of golf clubs in the Metropolitan PGA section, including Knollwood CC and Brooklawn CC, with a strong focus on teaching beginner golfers and juniors.
After 12 years in the New York area Kieran worked in New Jersey at Blue Heron Pines, Echo Lake CC, and the Bill Britton Golf Academy. At this point his teaching began to expand over to doing corporate clinics and to teaching a broad spectrum of skilled golfers.
Throughout Kieran’s career as a PGA professional he has taken lessons and learned from some of the best instructors in the world, including Brad Redding, Mike Bender, Todd Sones, Stan Utley, Jerry Tucker, Mike Bennett and Andy Plummer.
Kieran believes that with the proper attention paid to overall short game, golfers of all abilities can learn to shoot lower scores.
